Virtual Driver’s Meeting

TL;DR - Don’t be a silly goose. Don’t disappoint Adam.

Gentleman’s Rule: If you take someone out, give the position back.

Please treat this race like you would in real life - race respectfully, give competitors racing room and keep control of your car. The “right to racing room” is earned by a combination of duration and distance alongside another driver. It is not black and white, but the further alongside you get and the longer you stay there, the more right you have to racing room (or, the more required you are to leave racing room). Right to racing room trumps right to the racing line. Contact and loss of control is not acceptable. Incidents will be reviewed by GLiR Admins post-race and penalties will be applied if absolutely necessary.

In the case of an incident or spin where you leave the track surface, only rejoin once it’s absolutely clear of traffic.

Please keep your Relative Screen open at all times to stay aware of approaching cars (Press “F3” once driving) and enable Voice Chat in the “Options” > “Sound” menu.

Lapped cars are responsible for not affecting a car on the lead-lap unless they are also in a battle for position. Try to allow lead-lap cars past on straights when possible.

Please keep voice chat to an absolute minimum during qualifying and race sessions. Only immediately race-pertinent statements are acceptable. Outbursts directed at other drivers are not.

Live Admins

GRIDLIFE iRacers may use live admins to supervise races and administer penalties. Penalties will all be done through iRacing’s systems - always follow iRacing penalty cues during race sessions.

Track Limits

Track limits are defined as the space between the white lines/grass on either side of the track, or more simply, the space on track that does not earn an Incident Point.

Track limit penalties will be enforced by iRacing’s in-game cut penalty system. “Off tracks” will not be enforced as there is no Incident Limit for these races. There are the rare corner cuts that are not detected by iRacing (i.e., COTA Turn 3); any driver observed taking advantage of exploitative corner cutting will receive a penalty.

If you have exceeded track limits, you forfeit your right to racing room when re-entering the track. Incidents or crashes from re-entering the track will be judged at fault of the rejoining driver and they will be penalized.
