GRIDLIFE MODEL 3 CHALLENGE
ACCESSIBLE EV MOTORSPORT
GRIDLIFE Model 3 Challenge is a road-course driving series for those looking to compete with EVs, without committing to modifications that detract from the car’s road mannerisms. Model 3 Challenge uses power-limited Tesla Model 3s, so various configurations of the car can compete together in short sprint competitions without losing performance. A kit with all necessary components can be purchased from participating dealers or from Mountain Pass Performance.

• 2018 – 2023 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor (Dual Motor, 78k-82Wh Battery Pack)
• 2017 – 2019 Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD (Single Motor, 78kWh Battery Pack)*
• 2018 – 2019 Tesla Model 3 Mid Range RWD (Single Motor, 62kWh Battery Pack)*
• 2019 – 2023 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range/+ RWD (Single Motor, 54kWh NCA or 60kWh LFP Battery Pack)*
COMPETITION FORMAT

-Grid based on qualifying session
-Passing is done only in two dedicated “passing zones”
-Passing is initiated when a trailing car is within 20 meters of a leading car in a “detection zone”. The leading car facilitates a safe point-by
-Multiple cars in a “train” receive individual point-bys until the lead car has relinquished positions to all cars in proximity in detection zone
model 3 modifications
Cars are all modified to similar specifications. A fully finished car can be purchased from Electric Vehicle Racing Specialists, or you can build your own!
The “Model 3 Challenge” kit can be purchased from Mountain Pass Performance or any participating Mountain Pass Performance dealer.

JOIN GRIDLIFE MODEL 3 CHALLENGE
Driver Eligibility
Drivers must have driving experience on a racetrack. Previous Time Attack or Wheel-to-Wheel experience is not required, but recommended.
A racing license with a recognized body (GRIDLIFE, SCCA, NASA, FIA affiliate) is not required but recommended.
A minimum of eight documented HPDE events is required.
