GRIDLIFE™ Round 1 TrackBattle Preview

Round one of Gridlife Track Battle is approaching fast. With 118 entries we thought we should throw you a preview of some of the competitors in each of our HPDE+, Street, Track mod, and Unlimited classes.

HPDE Plus

The HPDE PLUS classification is intended for daily driven cars with bolt on modifications only. This is our enthusiast class and intended for Advanced HPDE drivers that are new to competitive driving.

Lacy Sports will be bringing their CR converted S2000 to play in HPDE plus. Since HPDE plus doesn't allow aftermarket aero, Aaron decided to convert his S2000 to a "Club Racer"  S2000. Since That particular model was put into production it makes Lacy Sport"s aerodynamics legal for HPDE plus.

Rambler racing is bringing their mostly stock, but awesome looking civic.  Piloted by Mico, watching this thing around the track is a true joy.

Eric will be showing us what a well set up 15' Mustang can do against a dominant import field. Bolts ons has this pony making around 400 horsepower to the Wheels. Should be exciting to see what times he can put down.

Functional +'s G35 will be looking to show the field that luxury coupes can be quicker then Honda's or its big brother 350Z's. With a nice suspension set up this car is ready for anything you can throw at it, while still being comfortable to drive back home after the weekend,

Ninelives Racing's new member Matt will be looking to best his 1:45s at Gingerman at round one. You wont be able to miss this car due to Matt's fuzzy green helmet. Not to mention this car is one of the loudest cars on the track, You will always know where he is, even if you aren't trying!

Street Modified

The Street Modified class is for vehicles that have modifications just beyond off the shelf bolt ons. This class is for vehicles and drivers that have extensive HPDE experience.

Twerk Team Racing's yellow S2000 podium last season in HPDE+, Driven by Alex. This thing hauls and believe it or not its not even on Aftermarket coilovers! Look for this car to quietly put down some blazing times.

Bro function was back again this season after a successful season last year in HPDE plus. This year they will be sporting the same S2000 except with a kink. Reaching around the ballpark range of 350whp , thanks to a supercharger its going to be exciting to see what lap times they can produce.

Matt from RS motors/365 Racing is a true testament of what a street car can do. Although stock looking it has a well sorted out suspension package. Motor wise its pretty much stock but it doesnt stop Matt from putting down some blazing lap times.

Speed Academy will be bringing their ASS2000 down from Canada. This thing was rough when they first got it but it truly has transformed into something great. Power Upgrades are a nice set of ITBS and exhaust system. Nice aero and suspension packages, going to be interesting to see what times this can produce.

Another RS Motors / 365 Racing driver Ronnie will be bringing his EVO to compete again. After a successful campaign in Track Mod last season you will see this tastefully modded EVO in Street Class. This is also the same car that took 2nd place overall in this season's Lap of America.

Corey's 350z is a relatively new comer to Trackbattle but with a well prepped 350Z, He should put down some impressive lap times.

Jan "JRAY" was  late bloomer last season in Street RWD but came on strong at the end of the season. With some fresh rubber, revised aero, and more seat time,l he might have a shot at the podium this season.

DMN Racing's seamlessly stock Evo is not to be overlooked. Nice suspension set up and nice tires. Plus its an Evo so they are pretty good from the factory.

Twerk Team Racing has a couple S2000's competing in street tire class. We look forward to seeing the friendly battles.

Speed Academy Will be back with their FRS which won the Ontario 1500. From 2015 to 2016 a Supercharger has been installed. Lets see what times they put down on their second trip to South Haven.

Joshua's Turbo 350Z is just that. A tracked turbo 350Z, those words alone make you want to pay attention to what times this car can put down.

Track Modified

The Track Modified class is intended for vehicles that are extensively modified for track and competition use. This class is for drivers that have participated in competitive driving previously.

Ninelives Racing Evo 8 Will be back in track mod this season, last year it had to retire earlier in the season. Back and refreshed we shall see what happens in a very dense Track Mod field.

TF Work''s beautiful S14 will be back this season to try and take the season championship after nearly missing last season and placing 2nd. With more seat time and kinks rolled out from last year, we are sure to see even faster lap times from this machine.

Ryan has changed classes this year but don't think he is running from competition. He placed second last season in unlimited despite the fact that he is sub 300WHP.

Ninelives Racing's S2000 has bumped up a class from last season after taking second place in Street mod. Word around town is a custom turbo set up is going on but we shall see what happens come June 10th.

#spartantracklife has one of the cleanest EG's in the Midwest. Always a joy watching this gorgeous example of a functional simple track car.

Brofunction will also be bringing their K series civic. This thing is amazingly fast, invited to every #finalgrid last year we don't see it slowing down anytime soon. Levi Brown is the man!

Luigi will be back again wit a more refined set up. Power planted by a turbo K series, this awesome EG turns some heads.

K miata will be mixing it up as well in Trackmod. Since Trackmod is open to other manufacture swaps, look for this awesome combination of Honda Horsepower with Miata lightweight.

Jake Kaminskis Racing will be back this year, with a full season of testing done and a new diff its going to be awesome to see what this Honda Challenge car can put down in the wide open world of time attack.

Boersma Racing will be joining us from Canada this season. Last season they were Globaltime Attack Street class champions. You have to love turbo B series.

Race Consulting Agency will be bringing their pretty much stock GTR to Trackmod. WIth only R888's, Cobb tune, and Swift springs it's going to be interesting to see what lap times this thing can produce.

Unlimited

The Unlimited class is for cars that are significantly modified beyond stock form. This group is for advanced and expert drivers only.

365 Racing / RS motors 2015 Unlimited season champ looks to keep his winning streak going.

Professional Awesome.....Doesn't really need an introduction but this amazing piece of machinery will be battling out in Unlimited, last year we heard them grenade 4th gear, lets hope that doesn't happen again.

PZ Tuning will be back with their 700+Hp Civic, that's right 700whp! Last year they were on a fresh car literally put together in about a month. So you can only expect it to be even faster with more kinks out. Oh yeah and its shed a lot of weight this off season.

Karcepts / Eleven Tenths Motorsports 's Civic whom currently owns the fastest NA Civic around south haven will be a force to reckon with.  So simple but so fast, i guess that's why they say K series all things.

Mild to Wild will be joining us from Canada with their LS powered 240SX. This car is a no new comer to competition or winning. Being on the podium very often up in Canada. Lets see what they can do in South Haven.

K Tuned's Supercharged Intergra will be with us this year. When I say fast front wheel drive car this car comes to mind. Fresh off a first place finish last month with Global Time Attack, look for him to climb to podium in South Haven.

Speed Academy's Also bringing their freshly built RX7. High Downforce, Big tires, and the power to push them. Lets see what lap times this thing can put down.

Ninelives Racing's S13 will be back attacking time. Last year they seem to run into problem after problem with fueling this thing but last event of the season they seem to be hammered out. Look forward to seeing what this high downforce car can do.

Last but not least we have another  Speed Academy Car, but this is very unique its a Suzuki Swift with a K Series in it! Very Unique and very awesome!
