The 2nd round of #GRIDLIFE Touring Cup took center stage at Gingerman Raceway for one of the biggest events of the year.  Bringing the awesome W2W action of GLTC to the 6th annual Midwest Festival captivated both spectators and drivers, with crowds filling the bleachers every session. Parity and build-variety define this growing series, with nearly 40 racers taking to the track over the weekend. Hoping to repeat his dominant performance from Round 1, Eric Kutil was challenged by GLTC newcomer Justin Kelly in his prepped S2000. However, the weather was variable throughout the weekend. Early, Kutil capitalized in the rain by setting a new GRIDLIFE overall wet-track record of 1:58.350 in Q1, and ran away with the first race of the weekend. As conditions improved, , Kelly challenged by winning races 2-3. Race 4 inverted the top 6 drivers of the weekend, and resulted in some of the most intenseracing GRIDLIFE has ever seen. A near photo finish saw Kutil lead Kelly at the end of race 4. Kutil’s consistency with two wins and two seconds earned him the weekend championship with 92 points. Recovering after Race 1, Justin Kelly had with three solid finishes and ended up in 2nd overall with 83 points. Aaron Leichty had 3 podiums placed 3rd with 68 points. W2W rookie and Mr. Consistent, D.J. Alessandrini finished 4th with 63 points at his second ever club race weekend. The next event for GLTC is GRIDLIFE Brisket Battle during Track Day Picnic (August 3-4), where drivers will have a unique old-school club racing experience at beautiful Blackhawk Farms.
