GRIDLIFE Model 3 Challenge Returns for Four Events

The Model 3 Challenge competition, which debuted at GRIDLIFE events in 2023, returns for the 2024 season at four venues across the country. Model 3 Challenge features a unique format that blurs the line between time attack and wheel-to-wheel racing.

Instead of racing wheel-to-wheel, cars start a competition nose-to-tail, and must be within 20 meters of a car ahead in a given “detection zone”. Once a car is within proximity in the detection zone, they complete a safe pass in one of two designated passing zones on track, with a point-by from the leading driver.

This format, in conjunction with a spec parts kit for the Tesla Model 3, allows drivers to compete on track without committing to major vehicle modifications. The parts kit includes suspension, braking, aerodynamic, and data equipment and can be purchased from Mountain Pass Performance or any participating Mountain Pass Performance Dealer.

GRIDLIFE Model 3 Challenge will compete at four events in 2024, starting with GRIDLIFE’s Willow Springs event on April 27-28. The series will also compete at Lime Rock Park August 18-20, during the GRIDLIFE Circuit Legends event, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on September 27-29, and Thunder Hill Raceway Park, November 16-17.
