GLTC Photo Finish at GRIDLIFE Chicagoland is One of Closest in Series History

Joliet, IL - GRIDLIFE Touring Cup (GLTC) Race 3 from GRIDLIFE Chicagoland at Autobahn Country Club featured battles all throughout the 34-car field. The field gridded by finishing order from Sunday morning’s Race 2, placing the #484 Chevrolet Corvette of Matan Rosenberg on pole alongside Andy Smedegard.

At the drop of the green flag, the front row sprinted away from the field and resumed their brawl from the morning race. Drivers Mat Beck, Andrew Cowden, Nathan Manning, and more traded positions several times during the race, all battling outside the top 20. Adam Jabaay, who missed grid for a small mechanical issue, charged into the fray alongside Matt Cater and Natlie Corder, who are both experiencing their first weekend in the GRIDLIFE Touring Cup Series.

The #40 Porsche Cayman of Jeremy Boysen spun in turn 1 mid-race, but was able to recover and pass eight cars to finish in 24th place. Eric Kutil sorted his electrical gremlins and gained 18 positions en route to a 10th place finish.

On the final lap, Matan Rosenberg and Andy Smedegard battled side by side in the middle sector, and the two left turn 15 door to door with the checkered flag in the air. Rosenberg edged out Smedegard by just 0.086 seconds, marking one of the closest finishes in GLTC history.

All GLTC results are unofficial pending power and weight compliance and incident investigations post race; full official results of races 3 and 4 will be posted after the conclusion of Race 4. The final race of the weekend is slated for 4:15 PM CT, with live timing and scoring available on Racehero.
