TrackBattle Round 2 Mid Event Update

A sold out TrackBattle field took to the track at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven MI for the 2nd round of the 2018 season.  Over 130 competitors from all over North America laid down lap times by the end of day 2. Canadian Will Au-Yeung set the fastest production car lap-time ever at Gingerman with a 1:23.775 in his Vibrant Performance, PZ Tuning Civic.

Will wasn't the only one to set records so far this week.  Newcomer Jeremy Swenson reset the overall Track Mod class record in his C6 ZR1 Corvette with a 1:32.378.  This was an improvement on the previous overall class record by 1.6 seconds.  Also in Track Modified, Chris Boersma reset the FWD record with a 1:33.492 in his K-Tuned Honda Civic.  To cap off the Track Modified field, Michael Puglisi then piloted his DMN Racing Mitsubishi Evo to a new Track Mod AWD record with a 1:33.727.

In the Street Modified class, the Evolve Autosport team of Brad Yonkers and Matt Dereus reset the overall class record with a 1:36.839 in their E46 M3.  Additionally, North Dakota native Shawn Krebsbach wheeled his Mitsubishi Evo to a new Street Modified AWD record of a 1:37.483.

In the popular Street Class, two records were reset.  Josh Orr proved that switching platforms for this season was a good choice by running a 1:38.388 in his C7 Z51 Corvette and resetting the Street Class overall record.  In AWD, Charles Miller ran a 1:40.752 for a new Street AWD record.

The next stage of the competition begins tomorrow as #GRIDLIFE debuts the Bracket Battles - pitting two cars against the clock and each other.
