#GRIDLIFE was back at Road Atlanta for the fourth straight year. As expected in August, this event was another hot one with temperatures in the 90s for Friday and Saturday. High heat wasn’t enough to slow down Unlimited Class Driver William Au-Yeung from nearing his own personal best at Road Atlanta. He managed a 1:19.962 before parking the car for the weekend and enjoying the rest of the festival weekend. Luke McGrew continued his winning ways in the Track Modified class by setting the class record on the first session of the event. After driving the wheels off the car for the rest of the weekend, Luke landed on the top of the podium with a 1:27.990 with Feras Qartoumy not far behind with a 1:29.968. Chris Boersma rounded out the TM podium by setting a personal best and “sub-30” time of 1:29.838, accomplishing a personal goal he’s been chasing for a while. In the highly contested FCP Euro Street Modified Class, Eric Rockwell and his mustang battled 2 extremely well-prepped Subarus all weekend. Eric came out on top with a 1:32.211. Sally McNulty and Eric DeWitt were hot on his heels though, with a 1:32.532 and 1:33.001 respectively. In Street GT, Coby Shield threw down a banger on Sunday morning leaving him with a best in class 1:34.567. In the Powerstop Street Class, drivers were separated by only 2 seconds with Charles Miller leading the charge with a 1:36.401. Austin Hertel and Joshua Halka also put down stellar times with a 1:37.227 and 1:38.504 to round out the podium.
The GRIDLIFE Season will conclude in 2 weeks at the TrackBattle Finals at Road America. Expect a dramatic finish to an incredible season, as all competitors converge on this iconic 4 mile circuit to battle it out for season victories.
