CHASE BAYS RETURNS TO GRIDLIFE WITH A NEW GLTC BUILD
Chase Bays, a leading manufacturer of motorsport fluid transfer products, will be competing in the 2024 GRIDLIFE Touring Cup (GLTC) series, the leading wheel-to- wheel sprint touring series in the United States.
Throughout the early spring, Chase Bays’ staff constructed and tested a bespoke K24-powered Toyota 86, which simultaneously served as a platform for new products.
“We have a long history with the K-series and the 86 chassis, and we see both becoming more popular on the track and on the street,” said Chase Bays founder Chase McMaster, “This effort has focused us on developing some of our key products, like our Dual Piston Manual Brake conversion, Oil Catch Can, Oil / Transmission / Differential Coolers and more, and will allow us to prove their effectiveness on the Track.”
Piloting the car will be long time racer and Chase Bays Vice President, Bryan Leonard, who has extensive experience building and driving race cars, as well as coaching drivers, in top-level series such as SRO, Champ Car, Porsche Sprint Challenge and IMSA.
“Competing in GLTC is exciting,” says Leonard, “no other series has created such a diverse, single-class field where Corvettes and front-wheel-drive Hondas can run competitively, side by side, and we can’t wait to get out there and show how our car, and our products, can run.”
Chase Bays thoroughly documented the car build on their YouTube channel, showcasing the process in their “Road to GLTC” series. All races will be live streamed on GRIDLIFE live, and for tickets, fans should visit www.grid.life to see the action in person!
“We are excited to see one of our season partners take the leap into racing with us”, says GRIDLIFE Motorsports Director and Co-Founder Adam Jabaay, “This is exactly what GLTC was conceived to be, a competitive and fun proving ground for cars and drivers, and it’s great to see Chase Bays on board and on grid!”
Chase Bays, based in Birmingham, Alabama, was founded in 2005 to produce high end, motorsport-grade fluid transfer products that optimize both form and function, and maintain a reasonable price point. Some of Chase Bays’ best known products are Motorsport Manual Brake conversions, Power Steering kits, Hydraulic Handbrakes and associated lines and reservoirs.
GRIDLIFE Touring Cup is a wheel-to-wheel, single-class sprint racing series with a mantra “race for the racing, not for the result,” focused on ensuring clean, fair racing. Created to allow drivers and teams to build the car they want to build in an open “time attack” style ruleset, GLTC is a power-to-weight class with modifiers for aero, drivetrain and other modifications. This allows for an enormous variety of builds to compete in a fast-paced, spectator focused event at GRIDLIFE’s Festival Tour weekends!
